Fróði Benjaminsen (born December 14, 1977 ) is a Faroese football player . He has played for Skála ÍF as a midfielder since 2019 and is the record player for the Betrideildin and the Faroese national team .

Benjaminsen started his career at B68 Toftir . First he ran in 1994 for the first time for the second team in the second division , the first game he played on the first day of the game in the 0-2 away defeat against LÍF Leirvík . In his first season, appearances in the first division followed , he made his debut in the 7-0 draw against GÍ Gøta on matchday 11 , when he came on in the 70th minute for Jóhannus Danielsen . In 2004 he played for Fram Reykjavík in Landsbankadeild for one year , after which he returned to the Faroe Islands and played for B36 Tórshavn . In 2008 the move to local rivals HB Torshavn was completed. In the second half of the season, Benjaminsen was out for a few weeks due to a broken foot. In 2009 the Supercup was won 3-1 against double winners EB / Streymur , in the same year Benjaminsen won his second championship title. The HB Tórshavn team captain was also voted Faroe Islands' Player of the Year for the second time. Benjaminsen has played 39 games in the European Cup so far. In 1996 he made his debut in the UI Cup in the 4-0 home defeat of B68 Toftir against LASK Linz . In 2005/06 he reached the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup in the service of B36 Tórshavn by beating ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar 1-1 and 2-1 , in which he played in the 2-2 in the second leg against FC Midtjylland , which after the 1-2 -Loss in the game meant leaving. Benjaminsen played 95 games for the Faroe Islands national team and scored six goals. He replaced Óli Johannesen as a record national player. Benjaminsen came on as a substitute for Sámal Joensen in the 81st minute .
