Footballer of the Year (Faroe Islands)
The Footballer of the Year award has been presented by various institutions in the Faroe Islands in the past. The most important one has been determined by the Faroese daily Sosialurin for more than ten years , with the captains and coaches of the ten first division participants and members of the press casting their votes for the election. Before this, the selection is narrowed down by a group of experts to three candidates per category.

Among the players, Fróði Benjaminsen won the award four times, and Łukasz Cieślewicz was also successful several times with two titles. Jákup Mikkelsen won four goalkeepers, and in 2005 he was also voted Player of the Year. Jón Rói Jacobsen won the title as the best young player twice and thus also the only one multiple times.

Further awards
In 2000, in addition to the above awards, the best defender, midfielder and striker were chosen. These were Predrag Živković ( VB Vágur ), Rúni Nolsøe ( HB Tórshavn ) and Marcello Marcelino ( B68 Toftir ). 2001 there was a choice of the television station Sjónvarp Føroya as the best player, the Fróði Benjaminsen , who was also awarded by the daily Sosialurin , and Hans Fróði Hansen (both from B68 Toftir) could win. In 2003, the election of the daily Dimmalætting resulted in Albert Sævarsson , who had already been named best goalkeeper by Sosialurin , Arnbjørn Danielsen and Øssur Hansen (all from B68 Toftir) as the winners.
In 2012 the best defender, midfielder and striker were chosen again. This choice was won by Marni Djurhuus ( EB / Streymur ), Hallur Hansson (HB Tórshavn) and Clayton Nascimento , who was already named best player by the daily Sosialurin . An eleven of the year was also elected for the first time in 2012.
In 2013, Jóhan Troest Davidsen (HB Tórshavn) was recognized as the best defender, Fróði Benjaminsen (HB Tórshavn) as the best midfielder and Páll A. Klettskarð ( KÍ Klaksvík ) as the best striker, in 2014 the award went again to Jóhan Troest Davidsen (HB Tórshavn) as well as to Łukasz Cieślewicz (B36 Tórshavn) and Adeshina Lawal (B36 Tórshavn). In 2015 Odmar Færø won the award for best defender, Łukasz Cieślewicz was voted best midfielder and Klæmint A. Olsen was voted best striker.
