Ukrainian footballer of the year
The player of the year was in the Soviet republic of 1969-1990 by the Ukrainian daily newspaper Molod Ukrainy excellent. Since the political change in the country, the best of the year has been honored by the sports newspaper Ukrainsky Football .
Record title holder is Oleh Blochin; he has received nine awards (1972–1978, 1980, 1981). After Ukraine gained independence, Andrij Shevchenko won the title six times (1997, 1999–2001, 2004 and 2005).
The most frequent awards were given to players from the capital club Dynamo Kiev.
