Footballer of the year in Namibia

As a Namibian player of the year or the season ( English Namibia's Footballer of the Year , Namibia's Player of the Season or Namibia's Player of the Year ) is since 2004 the best football player of Namibia awarded.

There are two independent awards per season. The decision for both awards is made by the twelve trainers of the Namibia Premier League after each season; a reader vote was carried out for the award from Namibia Sport Magazin in a few years. When awarding the Namibia Football Association , specifications are made, among other things, with regard to the non-eligibility of players from its own team. From the 2009/2010 season onwards, the public will vote on the players in each game in the Namibia Premier League, these in turn will be selected for the player of the month and the player of the year will be chosen from the monthly winners. In 2009, the award was given for the first time under the umbrella of the Namibia Premier League and not the football association.

The award is sponsored by the Namibian mobile operator MTC .
