Bola de Ouro
The Bola de Ouro (German: Goldener Ball ) is a Brazilian soccer award that has been given every year since 1973 by the magazine Placar to the best player in the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol , the Brazilian championship. The price is comparable to that of a footballer of the year in other countries. These days, however, the award is in competition with the Prêmio Craque do Brasileirão , which has been awarded jointly by the Brazilian Association and the television station Rede Globo since 2005 .
Placar awards marks to the individual players after each game day of the Série A and the Bola de Ouro is awarded to the player with the best overall marks at the end of the season. As a result, the large number of Brazilian professionals playing abroad, including almost all national players , are not included in the rating.
The Bola de Prata (Silver Ball) is awarded to the players with the highest marks in each individual playing position.
Bola de Ouro Prize Winner
In 1970 and 1972 the award was not yet awarded, but after the season ended the following players had the highest rating:
- 1970 : Francisco Reyes ( Flamengo )
- 1972 : Elías Figueroa ( Internacional )
