Placar (German: "Result table") is one of the most important Brazilian sports magazines . The first issue appeared in March 1970. The main topic of the magazine is football . The magazine, originally published weekly, appears monthly these days. The publisher is the major publisher Grupo Abril .

Every year since 1973 Placar has awarded the Bola de Ouro ("Golden Ball"), an honor that is equivalent to being named Footballer of the Year in other countries. Placar awards marks to the individual players after each game day of the Brazilian first division, the Série A, and the prize is awarded to the player with the best overall marks at the end of the season. As a result, the large number of Brazilian professionals playing abroad, including almost all national players, are not included in the rating. The Bola de Prata (Silver Ball) is awarded to the players with the highest marks in each individual playing position.
