Robinho , real name Robson de Souza (born January 25, 1984 in São Vicente ), is a Brazilian soccer player . The striker is known for his dribbles and, in addition to his technique, is characterized above all by his speed.
Career
societies
Robinho was born in poor conditions in the port city of São Vicente in the Brazilian state of São Paulo and began his footballing career in neighboring Santos with FC Santos , with which he won two championships and reached the final of the Copa Libertadores in 2003 .
After a week-long tug of war, Real Madrid managed to poach Robinho from his regular club in July 2005. He played his last game for Santos on August 24, 2005 against Paysandu SC . A few days later, on August 28, 2005, he made his league debut for Real Madrid in the game against FC Cádiz . On September 22, 2005, he scored his first goal in the Primera División in his fourth league game against Athletic Bilbao .
On September 1, 2008 Robinho moved to Manchester City and returned in January 2010 to August 2010 on loan to FC Santos . During the 2010 summer break, he moved to AC Milan . He signed a four-year contract. In his first season he was with Milan in the Serie A 2010/11 Italian champions; he scored 14 goals this season, as did his strike partners Zlatan Ibrahimović and Alexandre Pato . With his teammates Kevin-Prince Boateng and Ibrahimović, he formed the offensive triangle "Boatinhović" until the move from Ibrahimović in 2012 to Paris Saint-Germain . On January 19, 2014 Robinho completed his 100th Serie A appearance.
In August 2014 Robinho returned to FC Santos on loan until June 30, 2015. In May 2015, Robinho's contract with Milan was terminated. After an interlude in China with Guangzhou Evergrande , he played for the Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro from February 2016 to the end of 2017 .
In January 2018 he joined the Turkish first division club Sivasspor , the team finished the season in seventh place.
A year later he moved within the league within the winter transfer period to Istanbul Başakşehir FK . After Robinho won the championship with the club in the 2019/20 season (15 games, no goal), he was sacked in August 2020.
National team
Robinho made his debut for Brazil on July 13, 2003 during the Gold Cup game against Mexico. Robinho scored his first international goal in his seventh international match on February 9, 2005 against China. In June 2005 he won with Brazil the Confederations Cup and was in the summer of 2006 World Cup squad in Brazil . Robinho contributed a goal to qualify for this tournament. During the tournament he was on the court once from the start. Otherwise he was always substituted later for the regular players. He celebrated his greatest success so far at the 2007 Copa America , where he won the title, captured the top scorer's trophy with six goals and was voted best player of the tournament. As the winners of the Copa , Brazil qualified for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa. National coach Dunga also called his attacker into his squad for this tournament . Although Robinho played there in every possible game of his team, he was in the shadow of his storm colleague Luís Fabiano during the tournament . Brazil won the Confederations Cup, with Robinho starting the Brazilians in the final against the USA .
A year later , coach Dunga nominated him for the World Cup in South Africa . Robinho scored four goals during Brazil's qualifying. In the 23-man squad, Robinho was the fourth youngest player on the team , behind Nilmar and Thiago Silva, who were born in the same year, and Ramires , who was two years younger . Robinho met twice during the tournament. Including the 1-0 win against the Netherlands, which then turned the game around and threw Brazil out of the tournament. After the disappointing World Cup in South Africa for the Brazilian national team, there was a change in the team under new coach Mano Menezes . From then on, Menezes mainly nominated younger players, but still relied on Robinho, who rose to become the leading player. In summer 2011, the striker was for the Copa America in Argentina nominated . After being one of the youngest at the 2010 World Cup, he was one of the most experienced players in the Seleção squad at the Copa'11 . There were now eleven team-mates younger than Robinho. For the 2014 World Cup he was not considered by Luiz Felipe Scolari , his successor Dunga called Robinho after the injury of Hulk for the first game after the World Cup and Robinho came on in the 77th minute.
Since a single assignment in 2017 for the Brazilian national team, he is no longer part of their squad.
