Campeonato Brasileiro Série A 2007

The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A 2008 was the 52nd season of the Brazilian Série A .

Season course

The Série A started its new season on May 10, 2008 and ended on December 7, 2008.

On matchday four, Náutico Capibaribe played against Botafogo FR when the player André Luís Garcia of Botafogo made obscene gestures towards the Náutico fans. The player was then suspended for twelve games. Both clubs had to pay a fine and Náutico had to play two home games on a foreign pitch.

After the season, as every year, awards were given to the best players of the year. At the Prêmio Craque do Brasileirão , Hernanes was named the best player of the season by São Paulo FC. The fans' favorite was Darío Conca from Fluminense FC. The “ Golden Ball ”, awarded by the sports magazine Placar , went to Adriano from Master Flamengo. Adriano was the top scorer with 19 goals together with Diego Tardelli from Atlético Mineiro .
