Edu, brother of world star Zico , started his professional career with America FC from Rio de Janeiro . As a player, he played for well-known clubs such as Vasco da Gama and Botafogo. 1969 was the Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa , a predecessor of the Brazilian championship, top scorer.
