Rodrigo de Souza Cardoso (born March 4, 1982 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) is a Brazilian footballer who plays on the position of the center forward.

Rodrigo de Souza Cardoso began his professional career in 2001 with Vasco da Gama from Rio de Janeiro, where he was under contract until 2003, made 28 appearances and scored 5 goals and won the 2003 national championship . In 2004 he moved abroad for the first time and joined the Bulgarian first division club CSKA Sofia . After a rather disappointing season for him, he returned to Marítimo Funchal's homeland after only one year . In the following three years for Souza he was able to win a number of titles, but changed his club several times. From August to December 2008 he played in Greece for Panathinaikos Athens .

Souza made his debut with the Brazilian national team on January 16, 2003 in an encounter against the Czech Republic . He had already won the South American and World Cup in 1999 with the U-17 selection in his country.
