Dan Frost (born January 22, 1961 in Frederiksberg ) is a former Danish cyclist who was particularly successful in track cycling . In 1988 he became Olympic champion in the points race .
Athletic career
Frost competed for the first time at the age of 13. In 1985 he won the Danish amateur title in road racing , in the same year he won the bronze medal in the amateurs' points race at the track cycling world championships in Bassano del Grappa . In the same discipline he became world champion in 1986 in Colorado Springs . At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul , he won the gold medal in the points race. In 1990 he won the Danish championship in the individual time trial . In total he won 13 other Danish league titles during his cycling career in the team time trial in the team pursuit , in the individual pursuit and points race. After he had only achieved 15th place in the points race at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , he announced his retirement from cycling.

From 2006 to 2013 Frost was sporting director for Team CSC (later Team Saxo-Bank and Team Saxo-Tinkoff), and in 2014 Team Sky . Since 2000 he has been running the travel agency Dan Frost Cykelrejser ApS , which specializes in bike tours. He also works for ASO , comments for Eurosport and DR1 and gives lectures. The cyclist Ken Frost is his brother.
