Christian Pedersen

Christian Pedersen (born September 17, 1920 in Horsens , Denmark , † November 24, 1999 in Lyngby ) was a Danish cyclist. Between 1943 and 1953 he won the Danish amateur road driving championship six times .

Athletic career

Pedersen was active as an amateur athlete in the 1940s and 1950s. He won his first national road individual race championship in 1943. Due to the Second World War , Pedersen could only compete in races in Denmark until the mid-1940s. He achieved numerous victories. In 1948 he was part of the Danish squad for the Olympic Games in London , where he was used in individual and team races. In the individual road race he was 27th, in the team time trial the Danish team retired prematurely. From 1949 Pedersen took part in the Nordic Championships, where he also took part in the track races with the Danish team of four . While he was three times Nordic champion on the track between 1949 and 1955, he achieved third place as a road driver in 1949 and second in 1955. In 1953 Pedersen took part in two international stage races. He won the individual ranking in the Tour of Three Countries, the International Tour of Peace , and came third in the Tour of Sweden . After 1955, Pedersen, who was based in Lyngby , ended his racing career.
