Nentscho Christow

Nentscho Christow ( Bulgarian Ненчо Христов ; born December 17, 1933 in Varna , Bulgaria ; †  May 3, 2002 ) was a Bulgarian cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

As a member of the army, he began cycling. He took part in the peace run several times (in 1955 he was 18th) a total of five times at the start of the tour and won a stage, in 1959 he was able to place himself at the front with 6th place.

When he won the Peace Drive in 1957, he started on a bike from the French company La Perle . His victory was in jeopardy several times because he had broken fork three times. The Bulgarian mechanic then borrowed a fork from the German company Diamant from the GDR team , with which Christow finally won the race.

Professional

After his active cycling, he became the coach of the Bulgarian cycling team.
