Ondřej Sosenka (born December 9, 1975 in Prague ) is a former Czech cyclist and national champion in cycling.

Athletic career

The greatest successes of Ondřej Sosenka were winning the International Peace Tour in 2002 and the Tour of Poland in 2001 and 2004. On July 19, 2005, he set a new hour record in Moscow in the Olympic cycling stadium in Krylatskoje with 49,700 kilometers , thus surpassing five years British Chris Boardman's old world record of 49.441 kilometers. This was the second hourly world record according to the new regulations, since the World Cycling Association UCI only recognized records that are achieved with bicycles that corresponded to the technical standard of 1972. After another rule change, Sosenka's world hour record was surpassed by Jens Voigt on September 18, 2014 .

The time trial specialist Sosenka was four times Czech champion in the individual time trial .

On August 29, 2008 it was announced that Sosenka had a positive A-test for methamphetamine at the Czech championships . His team suspended him with immediate effect until the B sample was opened. He was then banned for two years.
