The Stetind (Sami Státtájåhkkå ) is a 1,392 m high mountain on the Tysfjord in Northern Norway . The translation of its Norwegian name means "anvil pinnacle". In 2002 it was named "National Mountain" in Norway.

After several attempts to climb the mountain at the end of the 19th century, Ferdinand Schjeldrup, Carl Wilhelm Rubenson and Alf Bonnevie Bryn successfully climbed the mountain for the first time in 1910 . The Norwegian eco-philosopher and mountaineer Arne Næss managed the first winter ascent and the ascent of the extremely difficult west face .

Stetind is considered to be the tallest granite obelisk on earth. He clearly dominates and dominates his surroundings. The location far to the north and the often extreme weather conditions make climbing it a serious undertaking, even on the normal route.

A tunnel of the RV 827 has been running through the mountain since the 1980s, a structure that is extremely controversial among locals and nature conservationists.
