Tomáš Konečný (born October 11, 1973 in Olomouc ) is a former Czech cyclist .

He began his international career in 1996 with the Czech cycling team Husqvarna-ZVVZ , which merged with the Australian team Giant-AIS in 1997 . For this team, he won a stage of the Saxony Tour in his first year and thus his first race on the international calendar. He became the Czech road racing champion in 1999 and represented his country at the 2000 Olympic Games , where he was 75th in road racing and 28th in the individual time trial .

In 2001 he switched to Domo-Farm Frites and achieved his best career result by winning the demanding 16th stage of the Vuelta a España in 2001 . He finished the tour in 16th place overall. He finished the Tour de France 2002 in 65th place.

After 2003 he worked for various teams, including a. 2004 and 2005 with the German T-Mobile team . Among other things, he won a stage of the Peace Tour in 2003 and the mountain classification of the Tour of Austria in 2004 . After his contract with Elk Haus-Simplon expired , he ended his career in 2008.
