Tour of Luxembourg
The Tour of Luxembourg (officially ŠkodaTour de Luxembourg since 2005 ) is a road bike race that is held annually in Luxembourg as a stage race .
The competition has belonged to the UCI Europe Tour and in the hors category since 2005 and to the UCI ProSeries since 2020 . When the UCI ProTour was introduced in 2005, the original intention was to integrate the race into the Eneco Tour .
The tour takes place regularly at the beginning of June over five stages on very hilly routes. It is one of the first preparatory races for the Tour de France .
In addition to numerous Luxembourgers, a Swiss won the tour in 1988, 1995 and 2007 and a German in 2011 and 2013. One of the winners is Lance Armstrong , who was able to achieve his first success here after having overcome cancer.
