Matteo Carrara (born March 25, 1979 in Alzano Lombardo ) is a former Italian professional cyclist .

biography

Matteo Carrara started cycling in 1987. His professional career started with Team Colpack Astro , which became De Nardi Colpack in 2003 . In this year the young Italian celebrated his first major successes, including a stage win on the Tour of Austria . The following year Carrara switched to the Lampre-Daikin team , who saw him as a hopeful sprinter. In 2005 Matteo Carrara was under contract with the South African team Barloworld for a year before he returned to Lampre-Fondital the following year . From 2009 to 2012 he drove for the Vcansoleil team . Here he was able to win the Circuit de Lorraine and the Tour of Luxembourg . After the 2012 season, he ended his career.
