Care2x
Care2x is a web-based hospital information system . It is used to integrate various information systems (within the hospital) into a single information system. Care2x is an open source project based on the GPL , i. H. the software and its source code are freely available to everyone.
History and Development
In 2002, the first code was published by Elpidio Latorilla. Since then, over 100 members from more than 20 countries have been developing Care2x. Since 2004, a special version for East African hospitals, as well as for third world countries in general, has been worked on for Tanzania . Basically different modules such as pharmacy, laboratory and accounting module as well as ARV and warehousing were specifically expanded or redesigned by Robert Meggle. In the meantime, based on this work, active pilot phases are taking place in Nepal and Brazil.
Components
Care2x consists of four components that can also be installed individually.
- Hospital information system (HIS)
- Doctor's Office Information System (AIS)
- Central data server (ZDS)
- Health Xchange Protocol (HXP, data exchange protocol)
