Rolf Järmann

Rolf Järmann (born January 31, 1966 in Arbon , Canton Thurgau ) is a former Swiss cyclist who was active from 1987 to 1999.

Life

Järmann originally completed an apprenticeship as a surveyor.

As a cyclist he was able to achieve 28 victories, including a. one stage of the Giro d'Italia (1989), two stages of the Tour de Suisse (1990 and 1993), the Grand Prix Ouest France (1995), the Tour of Luxembourg (1995), Tirreno – Adriatico (1998), the Amstel Gold Race (1993 and 1998) as well as a stage in the Tour de France 1992 .

After retiring from professional sport, he initially confessed anonymously in a book that he had taken EPO to improve performance . Shortly after the publication, he openly confessed to taking prohibited drugs, which was "common practice".

He was one of the first athletes in the world to write a blog on the Internet as early as 1994; the entries from the beginning of 1997 are still on his website. Even today he still writes a blog about his great hobby, mobile homes, which is now very successful.
