Olivier Beer (born October 18, 1990 in Lausanne ) is a former Swiss cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2009 Olivier Beer became Swiss champion in the junior team pursuit , together with Damien Corthésy , Loïc Perizzolo and Cyrille Thièry . In 2010 he finished fifth in the Zurich championship . In the following year he finished third in the team pursuit (U23) at the European Track Championships, with Thièry, Jan Keller and Silvan Dillier , became Swiss champion in the team pursuit (with Corthésy, Thièry and Théry Schir ) and third in the 1000-meter Time trial .

In 2012 Beer won three national titles, in the scratch , in the team pursuit and in the 1000-meter time trial, in 2013 in the time trial and in the two-man team race (with Claudio Imhof ), and in 2014 he became Swiss champion in the points race, in the team pursuit and in the 1000 -Meter time trial.

In 2016 Olivier Beer started together with Silvan Dillier, Théry Schir and Cyrille Thièry in the team pursuit at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro ; the Swiss foursome finished seventh.

Professional

Beer is training to be a physiotherapist at the Haute Ecole de Santé Vaud .
