Oskar von Büren (born March 27, 1933 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss cyclist who was mainly active on the track .

1952 won Oskar von Buren as an amateur the Championship of Zurich . In the same year started at the Olympic Games in Helsinki with Hans Pfenninger , Heinrich Müller and Max Wirth in the team pursuit , where the Swiss quartet was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the team from Italy , which later won the gold medal.

Subsequently, von Büren was a professional from 1953 to 1962 . His greatest success was the national title in two-man team driving , together with Erwin Schweizer , when it was first raced in Switzerland in 1957. In 1958 he was runner-up with Swiss champions in the same discipline and third in the national road championship in the same year. In 1959 he finished second at the Swiss Standing Championships and in 1960 third. He also started ten six-day races , but never got past sixth place.

After retiring from cycling, Oskar von Büren had been running a hotel in Caslano on Lake Lugano since 1970 . His brothers Armin and Emil were also racing cyclists.
