Erwin Schweizer (born July 2, 1935 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss cyclist who was active on the track and road .
Athletic career
Schweizer began his cycling career in 1952. In 1954, by winning the Brissago road race, he was promoted to what was then the A class of amateurs in Switzerland. In 1956 Erwin became Swiss Swiss champion in the single pursuit of amateurs . Then he went over to the professionals . He competed three times in the Tour de Suisse : in 1957 he was part of the Cilo team, which won the first team time trial of the Tour with Pasquale Fornara and Raphaël Géminiani , and in 1959 he won the seventh stage.
In 1957, Schweizer and Oskar von Büren became national champions in two-man team driving , and in 1958 Swiss champions in single pursuit .
