André Hardegger

André Hardegger (born March 18, 1922 in Zurich ; † June 11, 1945 there ) was a Swiss cyclist .

André Hardegger was professional cyclist from 1941 to 1945. In 1942 he was Swiss champion in the individual pursuit on the track , and he won the Tour du Lac Léman . In the same year he started in the Tour de Suisse .

Hardegger was considered a hopeful international talent for the time after the just ended Second World War and a favorite of the female audience. In 1945, at the age of 23, he fell fatally in a standing race on the Zurich-Oerlikon cycling track .
