Willy Trepp (born December 23, 1938 in Vicosoprano ) is a former Swiss cyclist .

Athletic career

Trepp began his career in 1956 and immediately won the Zurich championship in the junior class. In 1959, Willy Trepp was the first Swiss champion in the single pursuit of amateurs , after having finished third in this discipline the year before. In 1960 (the year he switched to the professional driver) and 1961 he was able to win this national title again as a professional. Also in 1959, he finished third in the pursuit of amateurs at the World Railroad Championships in Amsterdam . At the UCI track world championships in Zurich in 1960 , he was runner-up in the pursuit of professionals and again in 1961 , both times beaten by the German Rudi Altig . Trepp also started in street races like the Tour de Suisse and the Tour de France . In the 1960 Tour he started for the mixed team Luxembourg / Switzerland, but was eliminated on the 2nd stage. In 1961 he won the Tour of the Four Cantons . After the championship races in Switzerland in 1962, he retired from active cycling.

Professional

Trepp completed an apprenticeship as a draftsman.

Today Willy Trepp is a well-known wine connoisseur who u. a. Collects and publishes labels from wine bottles.
