Claudio Imhof (born September 26, 1990 in Scherzingen ) is a Swiss cyclist .
Athletic career
In 2006 Claudio Imhof was runner-up in the Swiss Youth Road Race Championships. He then shifted his focus to the railway and developed into a versatile driver there. 2008 was a particularly successful year for him: at the Junior Track World Championships in Cape Town he took third place in the Omnium , at the Junior European Championships in Pruszków he won the scratch title , and together with Silvan Dillier he won the UIV- Cup , the junior competition for six-day drivers , in Zurich .
In 2009 Imhof became Swiss champion in team pursuit , together with Franco Marvulli , Alexander Aeschbach and Bernhard Oberholzer . In January 2011 Claudio Imhof took third place in the points race at the World Cup race in Beijing . At the UEC European Rail Championships in 2011 in Apeldoorn, he won the silver medal in two-man team driving after a long injury break, together with Cyrille Thièry . At the domestic UEC European Rail Championships in 2015 in Grenchen , he took bronze in the points run. A few months later, in March 2016, Claudio Imhof was third in scratch at the World Railroad Championships in London . At the UEC European Rail Championships in Glasgow in 2018 , Imhof won two medals, bronze in the single pursuit and silver in the team pursuit with Cyrille Thièry, Frank Pasche , Stefan Bissegger and Théry Schir .
In January 2019, he won the Omnium at the Rail World Cup in Cambridge, New Zealand . In addition, the Swiss four with Imhof in his ranks set a new Swiss record with 3: 54.858 minutes . In June, the Swiss four-man team won bronze at the European Games in Minsk with Imhof, Schir, Lukas Rüegg and Robin Froidevaux .
