Jan Ramsauer

Jan Ramsauer (born December 7, 1975 ) is a former Swiss cyclist .

Jan Ramsauer began his cycling career as a cyclocross and road racer . In 1999 he won the cyclocross race Porsche Pro Open ahead of the former Belgian world champion Danny De Bie . In numerous other cyclo-cross races he took top places, in 2002 he was Swiss vice-champion in this discipline and in 2004 third. In 2001 he finished third in the overall ranking of the Luxembourg stage race Flèche du Sud , in 2002 he finished second in the same race.

In December 2002, Ramsauer was refused entry into the World Cup cross-country race in Kalmthout , Belgium , because he was found to have a high hematocrit value . According to the regulations, he had to take a two-week break from racing.

From 2003 Ramsauer also drove standing races and came second in the Swiss championship. In 2004, 2005 and 2008 he won the Swiss championship title for stayers. At the end of 2008 he ended his cycling career as part of the Zurich six-day race .
