Albertus de Graaf

Albertus "Bertus" de Graaf (born December 21, 1907 in Amsterdam ; † May 26, 1989 ) was a Dutch track cyclist and pacemaker .

In 1929 Bertus de Graaf became Dutch master of the amateurs . From 1933 to 1940 he was a professional . In 1933 he was the Dutch master of professional stayers and in 1937 third.

After the end of his career as a train driver, de Graaf set the pace. In 1961 , de Graaf led his compatriot Leendert van der Meulen to the amateur world title and in 1969 Jacob Oudkerk to the professional world title . He also achieved numerous other podium places at national and international championships and was one of the best pacemakers in Europe until the 1970s.
