Christian Dippel (born July 24, 1947 in Bielefeld ) is a former German pacemaker and cyclist .

From 1962 to 1970 Christian Dippel was successful as a cyclist at the district and state association level, both in track and road races as well as in cross-country cycling . From 1970 he was active as a pacemaker in stayer and derny races . With one title as world champion and two as European champion in the standing and nine German championships in standing and derny races, Dippel has been the most successful active pacemaker in the world since Dieter Durst left active competition. He has also been the first chairman of the RC Zugvogel Bielefeld from 1923 since 2001

On January 25, 2018, Dippel fell at the beginning of the first derny race at the Six Day Berlin and suffered numerous injuries. After a four-week stay in the Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin and several operations, he announced his retirement from active cycling in March. In May he will be retired on the occasion of the Whitsun Prize at the Forst Radrennbahn without having to officially start again.

His son André Dippel follows in his footsteps as a pacemaker.
