Mario Vonhof (born July 7, 1975 in Berlin ) is a former German racing cyclist and today's sports director .
Athletic career
Mario Vonhof was born in Berlin as the son of racing cyclist Peter Vonhof . He has been cycling since he was 12. In the first phase of his racing career Vonhof often competed in six-day races, but couldn't win any of them. From 1994 he was successful at the German Derny Championships and after a few second places he became the German Derny Champion in 1998, 1999 and 2000.
Vonhof has also competed in stayer races since he was 18 . After winning second place at the German Standing Championships in 2007 and 2008, he became the German Standing Champion in Leipzig in 2009 together with his regular pacemaker Dieter Durst . In 2010 he was runner-up again at the German standing championship in Erfurt. In 2007 in Alkmaar and 2009 in Forst, he took second place at the UEC European Standing Championships. He started for the Schwabach Touring Club .
Vonhof took the pacemaker test in Nuremberg in September 2009 . On October 2, 2011, he won his farewell race as a stalker at the Nuremberg Radrennbahn Reichelsdorfer Keller .
Professional
1992 to 1995 training as a police officer of the middle service with the police chief in Berlin.
In 2013 Vonhof was appointed representative for standing and dernysport in the Association of German Cyclists (BDR). In 2014 he was the sporting director of the Swiss women's cycling team Bigla Cycling Team .
