Athletic career

Carsten Podlesch began his career as a cross-country driver with the Zehlendorfer squirrels . At the age of 19 he switched to the standing bike. In the 21 years of his racing career, he won two world championship titles, three European championships, twelve German championships and, among others, ten stayer victories at the six-day race in Berlin. He won five times at the “World Cup for Stayer”, traditionally held on Christmas Day in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle. From 2001 to 2004 Podlesch drove for the Wiesenhof team .

Podlesch won his last world championship title in 1994 and is therefore an eternal title holder, as there have been no more world championships since then.
