Leo Proost (born November 1, 1933 in Oud-Turnhout ; † May 24, 2016 in Turnhout ) was a Belgian cyclist and three-time stayer world champion.

Leo Proost, whose professional career lasted from 1956 to 1973, was one of the most versatile track cyclists in Belgium at this time. As an amateur, he was Belgian champion in two-man team driving in 1956 with Fernand Leemans and third in the single pursuit . In the following years he was six times Belgian champion of professional stayers and once in the derny race .

In 1963, 1967 and 1968 Proost became world champion of professional stayers, 1964 vice world champion, and in 1966 he took third place. In 1965 Proost became the European champion of the stayers.

Leo Proost also started in 28 six-day races; In 1963 he was able to win that of Antwerp together with Rik Van Steenbergen and his son-in-law Palle Lykke .
