Graeme French (1956)

Graeme French (born April 15, 1927 in Ulverstone , † March 9, 2012 on the Gold Coast ) was an Australian track cyclist .

In 1955 and 1956, Graeme French was third in the European Standing Championships for professionals . Also in 1956 he won the world championship title of the stayers at the track world championships in Ordrup , behind the pacemaker Georges Grolimund . In 1957 he was third at the World Track Championships in Rocourt , again behind Grolimund. At the six days in Melbourne , the only one where he started, he finished second with Ronald Murray in 1959 .

In 1995 Graeme French was inducted into the "Sport Australia Hall of Fame" and in 1998 into the "Tasmanian Sporting Hall of Fame".
