Georges Parent (born September 15, 1885 in Tresserve , † October 22, 1918 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye ) was a French cyclist .

Georges Parent first learned the trade of a businessman in a coffee shop. He did his errands on his bicycle; on this business bike he took part in the first street races since 1903. From 1907 to 1914, Georges Parent was a professional cyclist and switched to standing on the track . In three consecutive years he was stayer world champion, in 1909 , 1910 and 1911 . From 1908 to 1910 he also took first place in the French stay-up championships.

Parent, described as quiet and humble, served in the French army during World War I , was wounded several times, and was awarded. He died of the Spanish flu just weeks before the end of the war .

In the 1940s a stand-up race for the “Prix Georges Parent” was held in Paris .
