UCI track world championships 1911
The 12th UCI Track World Championships took place in Rome in 1911 .
Riders of the Federation of German Cyclists (BDR) did not take part in this World Cup in Rome after disputes with the World Cycling Association Union Cycliste Internationale at the World Championships the year before. The BDR held unofficial "World Championships" in Dresden at the beginning of September . There, Peter Günther (standing professionals), Otto Meyer (flying professionals), Christel Rode (flying amateurs) and Heinrich Arens (standing amateurs) won the titles. One of the few foreigners at the start was the American Robert Walthour , who was living with his family in Dresden at the time.
The German specialist magazine Rad-Welt barely reported on the official World Championships in Italy .
