Constant Huret became the world champion of professional stayers

The first UCI Track Cycling World Championships were held from 12 to 18 August 1900 in Paris at the Velodrome Parc des Princes instead. 70 drivers from 16 nations took part. An average of 10,000 spectators attended the races. It was the first world championship under the aegis of the UCI , which was founded on April 14th of the same year, also in Paris.

In addition to the usual four races for sprinters and stayers (amateurs and professionals), an official world championship for two-seater was held.
