The track cycling world championships in 1894 took place from August 12th to 13th in Antwerp on a 400 meter long cycle track . The host was the “International Cyclists Association”, a predecessor organization of the UCI .
There were two races for amateurs. The disciplines included an aviator race, today sprint , over 1 mile and an endurance race over 100 km, for which pacemakers were permitted for the first time. There were only a few hundred spectators at the races.
