UCI track world championships 1933

The 29th UCI track world championships took place from August 11th to 15th, 1933 on the Velodrome of the Prinzenparkstadion in Paris , which was the fifth time a track world championship was held.

16 drivers from nine countries were registered for the world championship for professional stayers. It was won by Frenchman Charles Lacquehay with a seven-lap lead over second-placed Franco Giorgetti from Italy. The German Erich Metze was third, eight laps behind, while his team-mate Erich Möller had given up at 84 km.

For the professional pilots , 24 drivers from eleven countries started, for the amateurs 37 athletes from 13 countries, which meant a significant increase in the number of starters in this discipline compared to previous years. The finals of the professionals took place in front of 35,000 spectators.
