The 83rd UCI Track World Championships took place from August 17 to 29, 1993 in Vikingskipet in the Norwegian city ​​of Hamar .

Eleven decisions were held, eight for men and three for women.

At these world championships, the separation between professionals and amateurs was lifted for the first time. All athletes now competed in the elite class.
