Vasyl Yakovlev
Wassyl Jakowlew ( Ukrainian Василь Яковлев ; born July 3, 1972 in Odessa ) is a former Ukrainian track cyclist .
In 1990 Wassyl Jakowlew was two-time junior world champion on the track, in single and team pursuit . In 1993 he took third place in the points race at the track cycling world championships . Six years later he was runner- up in the same discipline behind the Swiss Bruno Risi .
Yakovlev competed four times - in 1992 , 1996 , 2000 and 2004 - at the Olympic Games: His best placings were fourth in the points race in 1996 and fifth in the two-man team race in 2004 together with Wolodymyr Rybin .
