Karl Igl

Karl Igl (born June 2, 1945 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian pacemaker .

Karl Igl worked as a mechanic in the Simmering power plant . In his spare time he was active as a race steward in road races on motorcycles . At the suggestion of Ferry Dusika , he took a pacemaker course. For 13 years he led his compatriot Roland Königshofer in standing races . The team has been together three times world champion of amateurs , in 1989 , 1990 and 1991 . In addition, Igl and Königshofer won four silver and two bronze medals at the Standing World Championships. At the UCI Track World Championships in 1987 in Vienna , Igl and Australian Danny Clark won a silver medal among the standing professionals.
