Wilhelm Henie (born September 7, 1872 in Kristiania ; † May 10, 1937 ) was a Norwegian cyclist and speed skater . He was the father of the figure skater Sonja Henie .

Wilhelm Henie came from a wealthy merchant family and therefore practiced the sport as an amateur. At the track cycling world championships in Antwerp in 1894 , Henie became world champion in the amateurs' standing race , making him the first Norwegian world champion in any sport. In the same year Henie also presented at the Velodrome of Herne Hill on two world records over two and ten English miles. In 1895 he was third at the World Cup in Cologne . In 1900 he reached second place in the amateur standing category at the World Cup in Paris .

Wilhelm Henie was also active as a speed skater; In 1896 he took part in the European Championships in Hamburg over four different routes and achieved a second and three third places. He competed in cycling until 1902.

20 years later, Wilhelm Henie achieved fame again as the ambitious father of the figure skater, three-time Olympic champion, ten-time world and six-time European champion Sonja Henie, whom he trained and managed himself.
