UCI track world championships 1987

The 77th UCI Track World Championships took place in Vienna in August 1987 .

14 decisions were on the program, twelve for men (five for professionals , seven for amateurs ) and two for women.

The World Championships were dominated by the Soviet Union team , which won four of seven titles among the amateurs. The Swiss Urs Freuler became world champion in points race for the seventh time in a row .
