Claudio Golinelli

Claudio Golinelli (born May 1, 1962 in Piacenza ) is a former Italian cyclist and three-time world champion on the track .

In 1981 Claudio Golinelli became Italian champion in the amateur road race . In 1983 he won the international first-class race Gran Premio della Liberazione .

In 1984 he became a professional and mainly focused on track cycling: he was Italian champion ten times in the track disciplines keirin and sprint .

Golinelli was also internationally successful in these disciplines. After finishing second in Sprint and Keirin at the UCI Track World Championships in Vienna in 1987 , he won the Keirin title in 1988. At the World Championships in 1989 in Lyon , he managed a double victory in Sprint and Keirin. After that, he was able to place himself on the podium at world championships several times. In 1993 he resigned.

At the track world championships in 1988 Golinelli was disqualified for proven ingestion of nandrolone .
