Darryn William Hill (born August 11, 1974 in Perth ) is a former Australian track cyclist and two-time world champion.

In 1991 and 1992 Darryn Hill finished on the podium at the Junior Track World Championships in the sprint and 1000 meter time trial . In 1994 he was third in the sprint at the Commonwealth Games and second at the UCI Track World Championships in Palermo . In 1995, in Bogotá , he won the sprint world title, and a year later the team sprint (with Gary Neiwand and Shane Kelly ).

In 1996, in Manchester , and in 1997 , in his hometown of Perth, Hill succeeded again in being third in the sprint at the track cycling world championships. At the Olympic Games in front of a home crowd in Sydney in 2000 , he won the bronze medal in the team sprint (with Gary Neiwand and Sean Eadie ), after he had already finished fifth in the sprint at the 1996 Atlanta Games .

In 1994 and 1995 Hill received the "Hubert Opperman Award" (called "Oppy Oscar"), named after the legendary Australian cycling star Hubert Opperman , for the best performance of the year in Australian sport.

Darryn Hill is known for his quick temper; he was involved in several brawls. In 2000 he attacked his teammate Ben Kersten during training and was fined by the Australian Cycling Federation.
