Ben Kersten (born September 21, 1981 in Wollongong ) is an Australian track and road cyclist .

In 1998, Ben Kersten won the gold medal in the 1000 meter time trial and silver in the team sprint at the Junior Track World Championships in Havana . The following year he defended his world title and won gold in the team sprint and bronze in the sprint . In 2003 he became the Australian time trial champion for the first time and in 2004 in the Keirin . He also won three gold and one silver at the Oceania Games in 2004 . In 2005, Kersten was again the Australian time trial champion, and he won the track cycling World Cup in Sydney in this discipline . In 2006 he won the World Cup in Los Angeles , became a four-time national champion, won gold in the time trial at the Commonwealth Games and silver at the world championships . The next year he was Australian time trial and omnium champion , and at the Oceania Championship he took bronze in the team sprint.

On the road, Ben Kersten won a stage in the Tour of the Murray River in 2005 . In 2009 he won the Tour of Atlanta prologue on the road and the Cronulla International Grand Prix . In 2010 he drove for the Australian Continental Team Fly V Australia .

Ben Kersten's older brother Joshua Kersten was Junior World Champion in the 1000 meter time trial on the track in 1995.
