Patrick Constable (born July 15, 1995 in Lismore ) is an Australian cyclist who specializes in the short-term disciplines on the track .

Athletic career

In 2010, Patrick Constable started cycling after reading a flyer for the Tour Down Under . In 2012, together with Jai Angsuthasawit and Alex Radzikiewicz, he won the gold medal in the junior team sprint at the Oceanic Cycling Championships. The following year, the trio became junior world champions in team sprints and Australian junior champions.

In 2014 Constable placed seven times in the top 10 in UCI competitions. In January 2016 he won the sprint competition at the third round of the Track Cycling World Cup in Hong Kong and together with Matthew Glaetzer and Jai Angsuthasawit he was Australian champion in the team sprint. In the same year he was nominated to participate in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro to start in sprint, keirin and team sprint. In the team sprint, he finished fourth with Matthew Glaetzer and Nathan Hart . In the sprint he finished eighth, in the Keirin he was eliminated after the first lap.

In 2017 Patrick Constable won the national championship title in the sprint and with Matthew Glaetzer and Ben Scholl in the team sprint. At the Commonwealth Games 2018 he won bronze in the team sprint with Nathan Hart and Jacob Schmid . He won silver in the team sprint with Hart and Schmid at the Oceania Championships 2017/18 and 2018/19.
