UCI track world championships 1996

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 86th UCI Track World Championships took place from August 28 to September 1, 1996 at the Manchester Velodrome . There were twelve disciplines on the program, eight for men and four for women. On three out of five days, the 3300-seat velodrome was sold out, and the spectators created “a great atmosphere”.

These world championships were the last in which the seven-time German world champion Michael Huebner took part. He crowned his more than 20-year career by winning a silver medal in the team sprint .
