Andrea Collinelli (born July 2, 1969 in Ravenna ) is a former Italian cyclist who was particularly successful in track cycling .

In 1995 Andrea Collinelli won a world championship medal for the first time in Bogotá . He finished second in the single pursuit , losing to Graeme Obree half a second behind in the final . At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , he won the gold medal in the 4,000-meter single pursuit and reached fourth place with the team. In the same year he won two more World Championship medals at the World Track Championships in Manchester : gold in the team pursuit (with Adler Capelli , Cristiano Citton and Mauro Trentini ) and silver in the single pursuit. At the Track World Championships in 1997 in Perth , he was again successful twice. He won the world title with the team (with Mario Benetton , Capelli and Citton) and bronze in the single pursuit. In 1998 in Bordeaux two more medals were added, silver in the two-man team driving (Madison, with Silvio Martinello ) and again bronze in the team pursuit (with Benetton, Capelli and Citton).

Collinelli also won several six-day races : 1997 in Bassano del Grappa , 1998 and 1999 in Grenoble , 1998 in Hyères and 1999 and 2000 in Fiorenzuola d'Arda . In contrast, he was only able to celebrate a few successes in road cycling (two stage wins at the 1997 Olympia's Tour ).

In 2000, Collinelli was suspended for ten months after the Italian track championships for doping, which is why he could not start at the Olympic Games in Sydney .
