Oleksandr Symonenko
Oleksandr Serhiowytsch Symonenko ( Ukrainian Олександр Сергійович Симоненко ; born February 14, 1974 in Kirovohrad ) is a former Ukrainian track cyclist .
1992 Oleksandr Symonenko was two-time vice world champion of the juniors in the single pursuit and in the points race . In 1995 in Bogotá and 1997 in Perth , he took second place at the UCI track world championships with the Ukrainian track four . In 1998, at the World Track Championships in Bordeaux , the Ukrainian four-man won the world title with Simonenko. In 2001, at the World Track Championships in Antwerp , Symonenko was double world champion, in the team and single pursuit.
Symonenko twice took part in the Olympic Games. At the 2000 Games in Sydney he won the silver medal in the team pursuit (with Oleksandr Fedenko , Serhij Matvjejew and Ruslan Pidhornyj ).
